  I spent (7) years going back and forth to different doctors trying to find out why I had intermittent back pain in my lower back and between my shoulder blades and not one Doctor could tell me why. They only wanted to treat me with a steroid shot and pain medication. After speaking with someone that knew Dr Kirby, they recommended I go see him. They also shared my issues with him and explained my symptoms. Dr Kirby all but begged me to come see him, so I did. Why would I, a forty year old man need to see a Rheumatologist, I asked my self? On my first visit, Dr Kirby had an idea of what was wrong with me. After a simple blood test and a few other steps, he explained that I had ankylosing spondylitis. Now I take a drug that suppresses the autoimmune disease and I now live a normal life without chronic pain. Dr Kirby knows his profession very well. He has always taken the time during follow ups to see how I am doing and shows great concern for my health. I would recommend him to anyone in the Charlotte area. It is extremely important to catch this early to minimize the long term damage that this can cause to your body. My visit to him has changed my life and my future! Thank you Dr. Kirby
